    The Libertines’ John Hassall will be joining us this June with his new project, The April Rainers, at Camden’s nightlife hotspot, Proud.

    After the release of their first album, ‘Wheels To Idyll’ on Vam Records, momentum has been steadily gathering for The April Rainers. Their catchy indie, psych, pop has been gaining attention from the music press, getting great reviews from NME and many more. The band already have a UK tour under their belt and string of festival dates lined up making them, without a doubt, a band for this summer’s bucket list!

  • ABSENT KELLY INTRODUCING: YOU STILL HAVE YOURSELF @Surya

    Full Line Up: You Still Have Yourself, Franc & Baby Pink, Kosgi, George House, Tialian

    We’re bringing all things urban to Islington’s Surya this June. Expect everything from Hip-Hop to Soul and Pop!

    Topping the evening’s bill after impressing promoters Absent Kelly at previous shows is You Still Have Yourself. This London based band play dancefloor ready pop/R&B. Frontman Deroy is known for being a true showman, injecting tons of energy into every performance!

    Providing support is Franc & Baby Pink, a producer and singer-songwriter duo based in London who have joined forces to create Soulful Electro/Pop with a dreamy, chilled out vibe.

    Kosgi is an Alt/Hip-Hop artist based in London whose grittiness is getting him noticed on the underground circuit.

    Local singer-songwriter, George House will be playing an Acoustic Pop set with elements of Soul and R&B that gives him a real edge.

    Mixing blues, jazz and soul, Tialian is a solo act from Essex whose laid back sound and beautiful voice will truly enthral you!

  • ABSENT KELLY INTRODUCING: THE SECRET CROWD @Amersham Arms

    Full Line Up: The Secret Crowd, The Troubadours, A N N A, Emma George

    Didn’t get a Glasto ticket? Who cares! Come down to the Amersham Arms this June where there will be more music than mud. No wellies necessary.

    After impressing promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show, The Secret Crowd return. These South Londoners are a four piece who play lively, feel good pop/rock with tons of energy. This energy has been turning heads South of the river, and we’re expecting a fun and charming set.

    We’re also joined by another London outfit, The Troubadours, who will be bringing with them their melodic Mod-esque Indie that has seen them play some huge venues, including Islington’s O2 Academy!

    A N N A takes influences from her Nordic and Canadian upbringing to create her own beautiful folk music that has seen her tour Canada, and gain quite a name for herself in her new home of London.

    Originally from Northern Ireland and now based in London, Emma George plays folk/pop with soft and emotive vocals, reminiscent of Lana Del Rey.

  • ABSENT KELLY EMERGING: DISHY TANGENT @O2 Academy2 Islington

    Full Line Up: Dishy Tangent, Ripley, Pixi Encore, Friday at 3, Another Summer, I Am Aquitaine

    This June at Islington’s O2 Academy2, we’re bringing together a line up to challenge any festival bill!

    After impressing promoters, Absent Kelly at numerous previous shows, Dishy Tangent are back to headline. The London quartet return with their fresh indie sound that incorporates elements of funk, soul and rock that has seen them play alongside big names like The Beat and Space. They’ve become known for their high energy, captivating sets.

    Providing support is Ripley. The trio hailing from Hertfordshire draw influences from the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Slaves to create upbeat alt/rock with an undeniable groove.

    Pop/Rock trio, Friday at 3 specialise in high octane, catchy tunes, packed full of precise vocals harmonies and thrashing guitars.

    Another Summer are back too! Local London trio, Another Summer will be bringing with them their brand of Pop/Rock overlaid with distinctive, New Romantic-esque vocals.

    Opening the show is I Am Aquitaine. This London based quartet’s sound is straight up, catchy indie pop, with a cherry on top, in the form of frontwoman Elle’s captivating vocals.

  • EAST INDIE CLUB: FLYING TAILOR @93 Feet East

    Full Line Up: Flying Tailor, Eliphant, Jumanji, Indea, Junk Time Party, HVNTSMEN

    After impressing promoters Absent Kelly time and time again, Flying Tailor return to play Brick Lane hotspot, 93 Feet East.

    Flying Tailor is a London based quintet who play modern introspective folk with touches of rock and trip hop to give them a Radiohead-esque vibe. The band have already impressed promoters Absent Kelly at previous shows, as well as impressing crowds across London at venues including the O2 Academy Islington and the super cool Seabright Arms!

    Eliphant will be providing support. This Power trio combines psychedelic garage tones and punk urgency with a modern twist. This sound has been turning heads on the underground circuit and making quite a name for this fledgling band.

    Jumanji are a six-piece indie pop band, based in Brighton. Their highly melodic, dreamy riffs have a really infectious feel and are sure to have you dancing all night and bagged them a slot at the Alternative Escape.

    North London lads Indea will be bringing their brand of indie rock to the stage. Their unique sound, full of jangly guitars and soulful vocals, has gained seen them share the stage with huge names like alt-J.

    Junk Time Party will also be there. The Croydon quintet play a unique blend of indie, punk and funk that is gaining them a loyal following on their local scene.

    Fresh faced indie pop five piece HVNTSMEN will be joining us from Buckinghamshire. Despite being fairly new to the scene, these guys have crafted a catchy, edgy sound.

  • ABSENT KELLY INTRODUCING: THE MEDEA PROJECT @Amersham Arms

    Full Line Up: The Medea Project, Premise, SECTLINEFOR, TrYangleHeyzeus

    If you like dark rock, then the Amersham Arms is the place for you this June.

    Returning to top the bill, after impressing promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show is The Medea Project. The Medea Project are a Kent trio who specialise in dark, atmospheric Gothic rock that is reminiscent of Depeche Mode in some places and Marilyn Manson in others. With shows lined up at renowned venues like the O2 Academy Islington, these guys are definitely ones to watch!

    We’ll also be joined by Premise, a modern melodic Rock band based in Surrey. This quartet are experts at crafting infectious guitar riffs and vocal hooks a plenty. Reminiscent of Lower Than Atlantis and Young Guns, these guys have bags of potential!

    SECTLINEFOR will be there too. Based in London, this trio make a hell of a lot of noise for a three piece! Expect cinematic and experimental noise rock performed with tonnes of energy!

    TrYangle are a grunge rock trio, originally from Portugal, but now based in London. Since relocating they’ve gained radio airplay and are turning heads around the Capital.

    Opening the show is Heyzeus, an Etheric Rock duo who have travelled all over the world with their music, including playing Ibiza Rocks.

  • ABSENT KELLY’S ROCK ‘N’ ROLL CLUB: THE DISTANCE @Alleycat

    Full Line Up: The Distance, Fake Mars Trip, Oliver Beardmore, Ashley Sherlock, Ian Daniels DJ Set

    Absent Kelly’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Club returns in July with another night a great music ‘til 3am!

    Topping the evening’s bill is The Distance. This five piece from London play infectious and incredibly uplifting pop/rock that combines elements of mod, punk and blues, to create something all their own! Expect an energetic performance that’ll have you dancing from beginning to end!

    Fake Mars Trip will be there too. Hailing from Essex, these four lads play indie/rock that is packed full of catchy guitar riffs and has been turning heads on the grass roots London circuit.

    Joining us all the way from Birmingham from the show is Oliver Beardmore, a singer-songwriter whose jangly indie has gained him slots at huge venues, including his local O2 Academy.

    Bringing his blues vibe to the Alleycat stage is Ashley Sherlock. This Mancunian’s sound is draws on his soulful voice and mixes it with elements of folk to create something memorable.

    On top of this, we’ve got the resident Absent Kelly DJ, Ian Daniels on the ones and twos ‘til three.

  • INDIE BASEMENT: MOOSEHEAD @Hope & Anchor

    Full Line Up: Moosehead, One World Less, Foreign Lives

    We’re back at one of our newest homes to start July in style, with a bill made up of some hot new talent!

    After impressing promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show, Moosehead return, this time to top the bill. These local lads are promising an electrifying set of their Funky Garage Rock, that they’ve honed playing around the London circuit, including at high profile venues like Islington’s O2 Academy.

    Fresh faced four piece, One World Less will be there too. This band will be bringing their brand of funky, bluesy Rock ‘N’ Roll to the stage with bags of energy too!

    Foreign Lives will be joining us from York for the show. Foreign Lives play infectious alt/indie that has gained them attention from BBC Radio 6 Music & BBC Introducing, as well as some great reviews!

  • ABSENT KELLY EMERGING: THE GARDEN PARTY @O2 Academy2 Islington

    Full Line Up: The Garden Party, Anita Chellamah, The Paisley Daze, Sunday Arches

    We’ve got a firm AK favourite topping the bill at the O2 Academy Islington in July, along with some new blood that we’re expecting big things from.

    Topping the evening’s bill is a hotly tipped act that has impressed promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show. The Garden Party are a fresh and unique Rap/Rock duo from London, who’s heavy, funky guitar lines and snarling raps have seen them compared to the likes of Rage Against the Machine and Asian Dub Foundation.

    Providing support is Anita Chellamah. This alt/rock songstress has had quite the musical career with previous bands, including The Cherry Bombz and Toto Coelo, and has played Reading Festival, supported Poison an obtained chart success. After a short break from music, she’s back to embark on a solo career and taking the scene by storm.

    Formed in Hong Kong, but now based in London, is The Paisley Daze, a huge six piece that specialise in playing Britpop and mod influenced indie that is infectious and raw. This sound has been gaining them some great reviews and slots at some of the Capital’s best grass roots venues.

    Sunday Arches will be there too. A fledgling band from East London, Sunday Arches play highly infectious indie that is turning heads even at this early stage. Their new EP, “Extended Play” is an absolute corker, so we’re expecting big things!

  • ABSENT KELLY INTRODUCING: BEXATRON @229

    Full Line Up: Bexatron, The Diomedes, At The Sun, Fortify, TommyandMarySurvivor’s Guilt

    We’ve got a real AK favourite topping the bill at 229 this July, with a support bill of hard rock bands that wouldn’t be out of place at Download!

    After impressing promoters Absent Kelly time and time again, Bexatron return to top the bill. If the Pistols or Blondie are your thing then Bexatron will rock your world! The female fronted London based five piece play hi-octane pop punk with a glam edge, packed full of soaring vocals and screeching guitar riffs that has seen them share the stage with huge names including The Blockheads!

    Another band who have impressed us before is The Diomedes. This East London based duo create an awful lot of noise for a two piece! Their electronically charged Rock, influenced by the likes of Aphex Twin and Deftones, is completely unique!

    Hailing from London, At The Sun are a hard rock 5 piece blending their love of blues, metal and classic rock to create a powerful sound packed full of big riffs, soulful vocals and ripping solos and are known for their high energy live shows.

    Joining us from Essex is Fortify. Female fronted five piece, Fortify combine the soaring vocals of Paramore with the thrashing guitars of A Day to Remember to create something both infectious and hard hitting all at once.

    If you want loud, we’re giving you loud, in the form of London punk duo, TommyandMary. This pair are like a ballsier White Stripes and have played some huge venues, including the Camden Assembly.

    Somewhere between punk and hard rock, is Survivor’s Guilt. The Croydon duo are relatively new to the scene, but are already turning heads on their local scene with their fresh sound.

    Full Line Up: Adrenaline Animals, Moonstone, Miceberg, Lemondaze

    We’re back for another Sonic Sketch night at Notting Hill Arts Club this July with some of the freshest bands on the scene right now!

    For high octane Indie Rock ‘N’ Roll, look no further than Adrenaline Animals. This London trio’s stomping sound has gained them numerous great reviews, support slots alongside big names like The Specials’ Terry Hall and they’re currently playing all over the UK. We foresee big things on the horizon for these guys!

    London five piece Moonstone will also be joining us. Moonstone have been turning heads on the underground and festivals circuit with their soaring, anthemic sound.

    Local quartet Miceberg are known for their melodic, 70s inspired sound. They’ve played pretty much every grass roots venue London has to offer, gaining a loyal following along the way.

    Cambridge quartet Lemondaze will be opening the show. Lemondaze play unique and fresh grungy shoegaze that has gained them radio airplay in their local area.

    This July at Camden’s famous Fiddlers Elbow, we’re helping an exciting new band take their next step to world domination!

    After impressing promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show, Premise return to top the bill and celebrate the release of their debut EP! Premise is a modern melodic Rock band based in Surrey. This quartet are experts at crafting infectious guitar riffs and vocal hooks a plenty, reminiscent of Lower Than Atlantis and Young Guns. These guys have bags of potential and known for their high octane live shows!

    Providing support is local London quartet, L Sicario. This band may be relatively new to the scene, but are already making waves with their lo-fi garage rock. L Sicario have been putting in the hours playing the London underground circuit and are turning heads as they do so.

    Joining us from Southampton for the show is The Bitter-Town Hounds, a four piece who play hard hitting, guitar driven Punk/Metal that has already gained them a lot of attention on their local scene, as well as airplay on BBC Introducing.

    Brighton trio GLOO are truly on the verge of greatness. They’ve shared the stage with Ramones legend Richie Ramone, had their music feature on Tattoo Fixers, Hollyoaks and more and had airplay on BBC Introducing and Kerrang Radio. Watch this space!

    Led by the captivating vocals and bubbly charisma of Natalie West, INDYA are a group who have featured on Kerrang! Radio and XFM, and have been interviewed by the likes of NME! A heavy dose of glam rock makes this band irresistible!

    Opening the show is Essex trio, 3 Foot High. These guys specialise in no nonsense rock that has seen them play the mainstage at Brownstock festival and gain a loyal following on their local scene!

    After impressing promoters Absent Kelly time and time again, Bexatron return to top the bill. If the Pistols or Blondie are your thing then Bexatron will rock your world! The female fronted London based five piece play hi-octane pop punk with a glam edge, packed full of soaring vocals and screeching guitar riffs that has seen them share the stage with huge names including The Blockheads!

    Local London quintet, Here Lay A Haunting combine riff driven guitars with deep rhythmic sections and powerful vocals, that has cemented them as a firm favourite among a new wave of UK Metal acts. With new material on the horizon, it’s exciting time for this band!

    Hampshire quartet One Last Thrill will be bringing their brand of infectious Alt/Rock to the stage. Their masterful guitar playing and soaring vocals of frontwoman, Steph has gained them, not only radio airplay, but tons of great reviews.

    Described as the “Nirvana of nowadays”, The Night Suns are known for their high energy Alt/Rock. Their distinctive, honed sound has seen them play at some of the Capital’s best loved venues, including The Underbelly, The Water Rats and Islington’s O2 Academy.

    Joining us all the way from Sheffield for the show is Dutch Rudder. This quartet play noisy punk rock, reminiscent of The Offspring, that has gained them a loyal following on their local scene, but now they’re ready to show the Capital what they’re made of!

  • REPUBLICA @Islington Assembly Hall

    Brit pop trail blazers are topping a very special night of female fronted live music, curated by promoters Absent Kelly.

    Dominating the charts in the Nineties Republica are still going strong, with touring and new music releases. The band are best known for being one of the key proponents in the femme-Britpop scene along with Sleeper, Elastica, Garbage and Lush, or you may know them thanks to their hits being featured in over 300 films and adverts, including Scream. Not to mention their indie masterpiece hit single “Ready to Go” soaring to number one in eighteen countries!

    Republica are still driving crowds wild worldwide and are known for their electrifying performances. Without a doubt a must see, and certainly a band to see again!
